Sentence: Fined $675; domestic violence counsel for 12 months; 100 hours of community service; serve 90 days in jail with credit being given for 11 days time served. The balance of 79 days are suspended for 12 months under the following conditions: No violation of laws other than minor traffic offenses, No alcohol/controlled substances other than doctor prescribed medication; subject to random testing or upon request from law enforcement; No similar violations.

Justin Mendoza faces three charges. The State accuses him of possession and control of a dangerous weapon by an incarcerated person. He also faces charges of battery upon an officer with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
The court continued Mendoza’s arraignment until Feb. 5. Public Defender Steve Cochran represents the defendant.

Judge Shirley continued the sentencing hearing of James Anthony Garcia Jr. The judge will sentence Garcia on a date to be determined by the court. Garcia faces charges for the possession of a stolen vehicle.

Sheriff’s officers transported Joseph Reith Grangruth from the Pershing County Jail to New Frontiers in Reno for drug rehabilitation. The court held a status hearing in his absence.
