Naveran, Stoker notch all-league honors

Lowry High School’s Dorsey Naveran and Kobe Stoker were named to the Northern 3A all-league teams.

Naveran, a junior, averaged 8.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals a game. He was named to the second team.

Stoker, a sophomore, averaged 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Buckaroos. He was an honorable mention choice.

Lowry finished 6-10 in the Northern 3A and 10-15 overall this season and missed out on the playoffs.

Churchill County’s Chelle Dalager was named Coach of the Year and South Tahoe’s McCallan Castles was named the Player of the Year.

The Northern 3A first team included Elko’s Jeron Yopps and Alex Klekas, Fernley’s Zach Burns, Dayton’s Trevor Burrows, Spring Creek’s Jake Oliphant and Churchill County’s Elijah Jackson.

Jackson, Castles and Burns earned first-team, all state honors.

The remainder of Northern 3A second team was comprised of Rei Robinett (Fernley), Levi Yuanick (Spring Creek), Jose Zataray (Elko), Johnny Cooley (Churchill County) and Thomas Steele.

Oliphant, Burrows, Yopps and Klekas were named to the all-state, second team.

The honorable mention group was made up of Elko’s Sean Klekas, Truckee’s Gabe Cruz and Isaac Cruz, South Tahoe’s Kevin Lehmann, Spring Creek’s Ryan Minor, Dayton’s Chase Peterson, Fernley’s Russell Ortiz and Churchill County’s Trey Rooks and Hayden Strasdin.
