Bernado Perez-Cervantes pleaded no contest to a domestic battery charge. He signed a domestic violence acknowledgment and waiver of rights. He was fined $200 + $105 AA + $35 special assessment fee. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for two years. He was given credit for 12 hours already served. He may serve the remaining 36 hours in jail or do 48 hours of community service. He is to complete 26 sessions of batterers intervention counseling with monthly reports to the court. Defendant ordered to no alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician, no further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations. The order to surrender all firearms was signed and the defendant admonished that possession, shipment, transportation or receipt of a firearm or ammunition may constitute a felony.
Thomas Lee Payne pleaded guilty to petit larceny. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA. Restitution was ordered in the amount of $22.07. The judge suspended payment of $500 of the fine on condition no further problems with the law other than minor traffic violations.
Michael David Grant pleaded guilty to operating an unregistered vehicle. He was fined $100 + $95 AA. He was given credit for two days already served in jail to pay the fine.
Feb. 7
Jeremiah Jon Turner pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphernalia. He was fined $500 + 140 AA. He was given $400 credit for four days already served in jail. All remaining fines were suspended for six months on condition no further problems with the law other than minor traffic violations.
Feb. 8
Maggi Lynne Sprague pleaded guilty to petit larceny. She was fined $1,000 + $140 AA. The court suspended payment of $500 for six months with condition no new violations of the law. She was ordered to pay $251.27 in restitution jointly with Jeremiah Turner, her co-defendant. The court further suspended another $500 for six months with the same conditions.
Jeremiah John Turner pleaded no contest to petit larceny. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA. The court suspended payment of $500 for six months with condition no new violations of the law. He was ordered to pay $251.27 in restitution jointly with Maggi Lynne Sprague, his co-defendant. The court further suspended another $500 for six months with the same conditions.
Jennifer Brennan Heckman pleaded guilty to driving while license cancelled, revoked or suspended. She was fined $500 and given 30 days jail time. She also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of possession of drugs which may not be introduced into interstate commerce and was sentenced to 60 days in jail. Jail time for both charges is to run concurrent, for a total of 60 days in jail. Defendant was given credit for 19 days already served.
Sasha Monique Arellano pleaded guilty to no seatbelt and following too closely. She was fined $25 + $50AA for no seatbelt and $50 + $65 AA for following too closely.
Feb. 9
Charles Ira Jackson pleaded guilty to hit and run of an unattended motor vehicle. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA.
A charge of failure to immediately report a traffic accident was against Heather Harris was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office.
Feb. 12
Scott Moriye Nobori pleaded guilty to a charge of DUI-1. He was sentenced to 2 days in jail and was given credit for two days already served. He was fined $500 + $140 + $60 forensic fee and $100 Special DUI Fee. DUI School and Victim Impact Panel were both ordered. Additional charges of open container, speeding 11-20 miles per hour over the limit and placement of certificate of registration were dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office.
Saul Presiliano-Iturral pleaded guilty to DUI. He was sentenced to 25 days in jail with 23 days stayed for two years. He was given credit for two days already served in jail. He was fined $500 + $140 AA + $60 forensic fee and $100 Special DUI Fee. DUI School and Victim Impact Panel were both ordered. Additional charges of headlights required, convicted person failing to register within 48 hours and driving with suspended plates were all dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office.
Bryant Zamora Hernandez pleaded guilty to domestic battery. He was fined $500 + $140AA + $35 special assessment fee. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 150 days stayed for two years. Defendant is to serve 30 days on weekends, within the next four months. He was ordered to complete 26 sessions of batterers intervention counseling with monthly reports to the court. No alcohol. No controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations. The defendant was also admonished that possession, shipment, transportation or receipt of a firearm or ammunition may constitute a felony. The defendant read and signed the order to surrender all firearms. An additional count of domestic battery and a charge of resisting a public officer were dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office.
Christopher Shiloh Sullivan pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is cancelled, suspended or revoked and no proof of insurance. An additional count of operating an unregistered vehicle was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office. For driving suspended/revoked, the defendant was fined $500 + $140 AA. For no proof of insurance, he was fined $600 + $140 AA. The court suspended $600 for 12 months on condition the defendant provides proof he had valid insurance for the time.
