The Battle Mountain High School JV boys basketball team traveled to Lovelock last weekend for the Pershing County JV Tournament. The Longhorns won one of their three games.
Battle Mountain dropped its opening game last Friday, losing 43-25 to Lowry. Aldo Castellanos led the Longhorns with 10 points and Santos Farias added seven points.
Battle Mountain picked up its first win of the year, with a 61-9 victory over Pershing County.
Jay Narramore had a team-high 11 points, while Farias joined him in double figures with 10 points. Riley Buller and Castellanos each had eight points and Isaiah Powell had six points.
Battle Mountain closed out the tournament with a 40-32 loss to Yerington.
Farias had 13 points and four rebounds, Terrence Fetterly had six points and 14 rebounds and Castellanos had four points and 11 rebounds.
Battle Mountain is home this weekend for a two-day tournament.
