Buckaroo runners compete at Douglas

The Lowry High School cross country team began its year this past Friday at the Douglas Class Races at Lampe Park in Minden.

Each individual class (freshmen, sophomores,juniors and seniors) had their own respective race.

The Lowry boys and girls competed in the event with other league rivals and schools from the 4A.

In her first race in a Lowry uniform, Jovi Kuskie won the freshman race with a time of 16 minutes, 54 seconds. She was 12 seconds quicker than Galena's Elyse Reily.

The sophomore race saw Kinsey Albisu place 13th posting a time of 19:33. The junior race had Makayla Leveille finish 11th with a time of 18:30.

Becca Kuskie finished second in the senior race with a time of 16:20. Spring Creek's Rylie Lusk was first, crossing the finish line at 16:11.

On the boys side, freshman Tyler J. Morrison ran a time of 18:34 and placed 37th. Jesse Hawkins was 31st with a time of 18:23.

Will Kracaw was sixth in the senior race with a time of 13:43.Spanish Springs' Daniel Horner won the race at 12:47.

Christian Olson ran 14:56 and placed 19th.
