National Horseshoe Pitchers Association comes to Winnemucca for second year in a row

Over $6,500 in prize money was given away last weekend to 44 competitors at the Winnemucca Event Center during the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA) tournament.

Rob Hagman is the 4th Vice-President of the NHPA and was on hand at the tournament.

“We run horseshoes throughout the entire nation, leagues and tournaments,” he said. “We help promote the sport at every level, from a six-year old kid to a hundred year-old guy. We promote it as a family sport; everyone can participate and have fun with it. We have a bid in for Winnemucca to host the World Tournament here in 2021, and we are also trying to get horseshoes into the Summer Olympics soon.”

All of the tournament results and more information about the sport of horseshoes can be found at thehorseshoetour.com.
