Lowry High School’s dance team provides entertainment and enthusiasm for the crowds at the games.
LHS dance coach Morgan Martinelli held a camp last week to get the girls in the mood.
“We have 11 girls on the team this year,” Martinelli said. “This is a good size team, but we are hoping to get a few more next year. We have a lot of new girls, but we can only field a varsity team this year, no JV squad.”
The dance team performed for the first time on Friday.
“This is my first year coaching the team, I’m ready to bring some really awesome things to half-times,” Martinelli said. “We are really excited for our first game on Friday; our captains have been working really hard to choreograph all new dances. We are trying to bring it up a level this year. We perform at football games, basketball games and school assemblies.”
Mackenzie Grasmick is a dancer on the squad.
“We are ready to bring it this year; hopefully we can get more people out at the football games," she said.
