Dorlene lost her short battle with cancer on Thursday March 29, 2018 in Carson City, NV. She passed quietly surrounded by her friends and family.
Dorlene was born to Jack and Sue Black on February 13, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was raised and spent the majority of her adult life in Winnemucca, NV. She graduated Albert M. Lowry High School in 1973 and after raising her children went on to become a pharmacy technician working at Olsen’s Corner Drug Store where she was known for her quick smile and her offbeat sense of humor.
Dorlene was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Steven, nephew Timothy and brother David.
She is survived by her husband and partner of 29 years David, her daughters Theresa (Wes), Jaymie and Shianna (Kyle). Her stepson Ron Kidd (Phaedra) and stepdaughter Barbara Belyew. Her grandchildren Jonathan, Samantha, Lacey, Aaron, Kyle, Alexandria, Josh, Carrynne and Creighton. She also had two great granddaughters Frankie Jean and Makennah. Her brother Mike (Judy), their daughters Johnna Black, Michelle Ingalls (Dustin) and their children. Her sister-in-law Tina, niece Danielle Benevides (Rigeberto) and her children. Cousins Jimmy Black (Lori), Dan Black (Bonnie) and their children.
Dorlene was known for her love of animals and the family is asking that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Humane Society or to American Cancer Society to help fund the treatment and prevention of lung cancer.
