Battle Mountain baseball, softball sees schedule changes

There have a number of changes to the Battle Mountain High School and baseball and softball schedules.

The series with Incline has been moved back to the final week of the regular season and will now be played May 3-4 in Incline. There will be a single game on Thursday, May 3, at 4 p.m. and a doubleheader on Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m.

The baseball and softball team made up their games with West Wendover on Tuesday and results were not available at press time.

The schedule has changed this weekend as well in Ely. The baseball and softball teams will play a single game on Friday at 4 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Battle Mountain will travel to Lovelock on Tuesday to face Pershing County at 4 p.m. The two rivals move the series to Battle Mountain on Saturday, April 21.

After a week off, the Battle Mountain track and field team will be in Elko on Friday for the Ward Coates Invitational. The Longhorns close out the regular season with meets at Eureka (April 20), White (April (27) and Winnemucca (May 5).

The Northern 2A Regional Championships are set for May 11-12 at Yerington High School. The top four finishers in each event at the regional meet, qualifies for the NIAA State Championships on May 18-19 in Carson City.

The Battle Mountain golf team is scheduled to be in Jackpot on Thursday. The Longhorns host their tournament on Thursday, April 19.
