The lilac tree that graces the corner of the Humboldt County Courthouse is safe. The county is installing security cameras, and the tree blocked the view of the courthouse entryway for one potential camera location. County Manager Dave Mendiola assured the Sun that the tree is in no danger of removal. Comments on a Facebook post about the possible removal of the tree demonstrated how much Winnemucca residents love the tree’s purple blooms.
