Sept. 20

Odeyda Guevara pleaded guilty to speeding. In return the Humboldt Country DA’s Office dropped additional charges for failure to obtain a Nevada drivers license and registration. The defendant was fined $100 + $95 AA.



Zoe Mae Conrad pleaded guilty to an amended charge of speeding 16-20 miles per hour over the limit. She was fined $100 + $95 AA.



Edward Rick Castellanos was found guilty at a bench trial of DUI-1 and failure to maintain travel lane. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed on condition he serve two days. He was given credit for 12 hours already served. He may serve the additional 36 hours in jail or, in the alternate, he may perform 72 hours of community service or 72 hours on house arrest. He was fined $400 + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee and $100 Special DUI fee. DUI School and Victim Impact Panel were ordered. Fines and fees for failure to possess drivers license to run concurrent with DUI fines. Defendant further ordered to no alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further problems with the law other than minor traffic violations.



Sept. 21

Jamie Lee Sam pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. He was fined $600 + $140AA + $100 late fee and $100 warrant fee. He was given credit for six days served in jail and the court suspended the balance of $340 on condition he have no further problems with the law for six months. His license suspension was cleared.



Christopher Anthony Tomey pleaded guilty to throwing a burning cigarette or other burning material from a moving vehicle. He was fined $500 + $140AA + $100 late fee and $100 warrant fee. He was given $700 credit for 7 days already served in jail and the court suspended the balance of $140 for three months on condition no further violations. A license suspension was cleared.



Nick O. Sandvig pleaded guilty to reckless driving pursuant to negotiations with the Humboldt County DA’s Office, which agreed to dismiss addition charges of use — or possession with intent to use chemical, poison or solvent to induce euphoria or hallucinations and driving on the sidewalk. He was fined $500 + $140AA, then given credit of $400 for 4 days jail time served. The balance of $240 in fines was suspended on condition the defendant attend a victim impact panel on Sept. 30 and continue with counseling.



Jamie Lee Kenney pleaded no contest to domestic battery, first offense. An additional charge of breach of peace was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office. Kenney was fined $200 + $105 AA + $35 special assessment fee. Fines and fees were converted to three days jail time and she was given credit for jail time already served. She was sentenced to give 48 hours of community service but that was reduced to 24 hours with one day’s credit for jail time already served. She is to complete 26 sessions of batterers intervention counseling with monthly reports to the court. As no certified counselors are available in the area at this time, the court informed the defendant if she entered and completed the Celebrating Families Program and family counseling the court would consider giving credit. No alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations. Defendant was admonished that possession, shipment, transportation or receipt of a firearm or ammunition may constitute a felony.



Sept. 22

Anthony Augustine McKinney pleaded no contest to a charge of defrauding an innkeeper. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail and given credit for nine days jail time already served. The court suspended the remaining six days jail time for six months on condition the defendant pay $33.23 in restitution for Winnemucca Inn and he not have any further problems of the law other than minor traffic violations.



A review hearing was held for Cody Frank Potter, who had previously pleaded guilty to possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He was given credit for seven days jail time already served and the case was closed.



Bruce Rodriguez pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless driving. He was fined $400 + $125 AA.



Earl Eugene Franks pleaded guilty to DUI, following too closely and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed on condition he serve two days, he was given two days credit for time already served. He was fined $400 + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee + $100 Special DUI Fee. He was given $200 in credit for 2 days served. DUI School and Victim Impact Panel were waived by the court. The fines and fees for counts two and three were ordered to run concurrent with the other fines and fees. Defendant was ordered to no alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further problems with the law other than minor traffic violations.



Sept. 25

Kevin Domingo pleaded guilty to driving without a valid license and using a hand-held wireless communication device while driving. An additional charge of having suspended license plates was dismissed. He was fined $100 + $95AA for no driver’s license and fined $50 + $65 for driving while using hand-held wireless communication device. Fines and fees were converted to three days jail time and credit was given for three days already served.



Justin Dean Roysdon pleaded guilty to speeding 31-40 miles over the limit. An additional charge of reckless driving was dismissed. He was fined $370 + $115AA.



Desmond James Keller pleaded guilty to resisting a public officer. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA.

Sept. 26

Garrett Charles Greven pleaded guilty to an amended charge of speeding 1-10 miles over the limit. He was fined $50 + $65 AA.



Evan Ray Deschsummers pleaded guilty to an amended charge of speeding 1-10 miles over the limit. He was fined $50 + $65 AA.



Kaitlin Christina Hornick pleaded guilty to speeding. She was fined $50 + $65 AA. The judge also imposed a $100 late fee.

Joseph Lynn Blanc pleaaded guilty to speeding. He was fined $50 + $65 AA.



Edward Kuklinski pleaded guilty to a charge of using a handheld electronic communication device while driving. He was fined $50 + $65 AA.



A charge against James Randy Walker for sale of a controlled substance was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office. The one-time dismissal was requested and granted, as the defendant had complied with orders from a previous hearing that he stay in Missouri, where he is facing a probation violation charge. In a separate case against Walker for possession of a controlled substance, charges were dismissed for the same reason.



Alejandra De Jesus Lara pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined $50 + $65 AA. The Humboldt County DA’s office dismissed an additional charge for failure to use child restraints. The judge also imposed a $100 late fee as the defendant had failed to appear on communicate with the court on a prior arraignment date.
