BMHS girls continue to improve

The Battle Mountain High School girls golf team continues to improve by leaps and bounds.

The Lady Longhorns were in Elko and Ruby View Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 20, and finished second with a score of 467. The Elko JV won the tournament.

Lynzee Devlin led the Lady Longhorns with a 110, while teammate Savannah Gunther was close behind at 113. Adriene Burkhart shot 120 and Kennedy Soule and Adriana Roberts each shot 124.

“Wow. We improved by leaps and bounds this week,” said BMHS coach Roger Wallock. “We really worked hard on our putting during practice and it seems to have paid off. Lynzee stayed steady at her season average, she is very consistent, and the other four girls all improved their season/career best by at least 20 strokes. [I am] very excited to see the improvement and excited to see us vying for team honors the rest of the season.”

Battle Mountain will be on its home course on Thursday.
