On the morning of September 8, 2017, Mary Lou Taylor was welcomed into the welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven leaving behind her illness, pain, and suffering. Mary was born to Mary Ione and Louis Peck on May 23, 1934 in Shoshone, Idaho. She was the couple’s only daughter and she and her three brothers made the family complete. Her life was full of love and labor; both professionally in her career as a Registered Nurse and within her family as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her golden heart was full of love and she cared deeply about everyone she was surrounded by up until her final days on earth. She gave birth to her only child; a daughter, when she was 25 years old. Her “Jenny,” would eventually gift her with the treasures that she held most dear - - her grandchildren. Mary made her home in Payette, Idaho until 2013 when she moved to Winnemucca, Nevada to be closer to Jenny and the kids. She was extremely active in her church both in Payette and Winnemucca. She took the greatest joy in singing and playing piano as part of worship to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed travelling the world via the cruise lines with Chrissy, Rob, and friends. She was a master of many fine arts including crochet, knitting, music, needle point, and painting. One of her most loved hobbies was tracking and tracing the family genealogy and sharing it with anyone who asked and would listen. In 2015, Mary fell victim to a stroke which robbed her of some of her independence and changed her life as she knew it. After extremely hard work and vigorous rehabilitation efforts, Mary was able to move into Harmony Manor where she would spend her final years. There she enjoyed arts and crafts with the ladies, Women at the Well, hairstyles from Renee, arguing with Dennis and friends, visits with Jayme and Julia, Thursday afternoon Bingo games, music from the Danner’s, karaoke in the living room, giving the nursing staff hell, physical therapy with Joann, and making everyone laugh and smile. She had an infectious smile, a quick and witty attitude, a heart of gold, and a brutal honesty that made everyone around her love her more every day. Mary is survived by her daughter Jennifer Waldie (Rick,) her grandchildren Britney McCraney, Brian Myers (Mondy,) Dylan Hensler (Sheena,) Madison and Connor Waldie; her great-grandchildren Quincee, Ethan, Amaya, Maisie, and Lindsey; her nephew Larry Peck (Pam,) and her niece Carol Ann Hill; her Harmony Manor family; and too many other friends and loved ones to count. Mary was preceded in death by her late husband Harry; her mother, father, and three brothers; her special friend Rob; her granddaughter Kaitlyn Brooke Waldie; and her great-grandsons Dalton Isaiah and Abel Joseph. She also had a multitude of friends, pets, and distant family members that were waiting to welcome her at the Pearly Gates. Mary’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Robin M., Robin G., Jacqueline, Jennifer, Michele, Lori, Rachel, Dian, Joann, Rachel, Kenzie, Ashlee, Areili, Kieleen, and the rest of the nurses, CNAs, and staff at Harmony Manor, Dr. Robbie Grant and Dr. B.
