Sept. 5

Lindsey Taylor Frost was found guilty at a bench trial of petit larceny. She was fined $1000 + $140 AA. The judge suspended $500 for six months on condition of no further problems with the law other than minor traffic violations. The defendant was indefinitely trespassed from Walmart.



Holly Renee Frost was found not guilty at a bench trial of petit larceny and the case was dismissed



Velvet Ruth Frost was found guilty at a bench trial of petit larceny. She was fined $1000 + $140 AA. The judge suspended $500 for six months on condition of no further problems with the law other than minor traffic violations. The defendant was indefinitely trespassed from Walmart.



Sept. 6

Lola McDuffy, originally charged with battery, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of disturbing the peace pursuant to a plea agreement with the Humboldt County DA’s Office. She was fined $250 + $105 AA. $250 is suspended for three months on condition the defendant have no further violations of the law.



One year ago, Nicole Yvonne Aragon pleaded no contest to resisting a public officer and disorderly conduct. She was fined $250 + $105 for disorderly conduct. Fines and fees were converted to three days in jail and she was given credit for three days already served. A deferred sentencing date was set for Sept. 6 this year on the charge of resisting a public officer. As agreed last year, since she had no further like violations in that amount of time, the court allowed her to withdraw her no contest plea and dismissed that charge.

Sept. 7

Timothy Burroughs pleaded guilty to driving while license canceled/suspended/or revoked – DUI related. In return the Humboldt County DA’s Office agreed to dismiss additional charges of no proof of insurance, no registration and no tail lights. He was fined $500 + $140 AA. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail or 60 days of house arrest.



Sept. 8

Ross Sean Joshua Merrill pleaded guilty to battery and petit larceny. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA on the battery charge and $1,000 + $140 for petit larceny. He was given credit of $1200 for 12 days jail time already served. The judge suspended the remaining $1,080 on condition no further problems with the law in the next six months other than minor traffic violations.



Sept. 11

Banesa Trigueros pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI-1 and failure to obey a traffic control device. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for a year on condition she serve two days. She was given credit for 12 hours jail time already served. In the alternative to completing the 36 hours of jail time, she is allowed to choose to do 36 hours of community service of 72 hours of house arrest. She was fined $400 + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee + $100 Special DUI Fee. Dui School and Victim Impact Panel were ordered. No alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations.



Sept. 12

Pursuant to plea negotiations with the Humboldt County DA’s Office, a case against Joshua Eric Severson for rural speeding was dismissed.



A case against Jessica Graciela Lopez for possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office.



Dean Decarlo Browne pleaded guilty to an amended charge of no valid driver’s license. The original charge was driving while license suspended or revoked. Additional charges of failure to yield and driving with suspended or revoked plates were dismissed. Browne was fined $100 + $95 AA.



Dmytro Vasylyovych Sholka pleaded guilty to driving without headlights. On a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office, the court dismissed additional charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and no proof of insurance. Sholka was fined $25 + $50 AA.



Chad Crutcher was found guilty at a bench trial of abandoning or failing to provide sustenance for an animal. He was fined $200 + $105 AA. The court suspended payment of $200 on the condition the defendant pay restitution of $77 to the treasurer’s office to reimburse the animal shelter and have no further violations of the law other than minor traffic violations. The court put it into the record that it was allowing the dog to be placed in another home or placed in the custody of the Humane Society.



A charge of domestic battery against Antonio E. Plascencia was dismissed as Plascencia had complied with conditions of a deferred prosecution agreement, including completing a batterers intervention counseling.
