Gerald Allen Baumert was born on Armistice Day, November 11, 1931 and died on Labor Day, September 4, 2017.
Uncle Jerry was a longtime resident of Winnemucca, Nevada until moving briefly to Salt Lake City, Utah to be closer to family as he lived his final few months in the Life Care Center of Salt Lake City.
He was a music lover and performer; car aficionado; Korean War veteran; retiree of the Western and Union Pacific Railroad; and neighborhood feral Cat Whisperer.
He leaves behind nephew and nieces Rick Hughes (Judy,) Penny Hughes-Jacobs (Randy,) and Mary Hughes (Arturo) as well as numerous great/great-great nieces and nephews and his beloved friends Bert and Julie Whitehead and Margie and Dave Witzel.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a random act of kindness. And go polish your car with a good chamois....Jerry would love that.
