It is with deep sadness that our family informs you of the loss of our sweet Juanita. Nita held her own against pancreatic cancer but ultimately lost the battle on May 26, 2017. Nita is survived by her loving husband of 15 years Victor Quintero, children Amy Smith (Aaron), J.C. MacDonald(Kristin) & Joshua MacDonald, grandchildren Jenelle, Jacob, Osbaldo, Matteo, Stuart & Aurora, great grandchildren Tiana, Carlos & Amira. Brothers Armando Solorzano(Lisa), Michael Solorzano(Debbie), Matthew Kizer(Karen) & Sister Mary Boyce(Joe). Aunts Susan Cross, Kay Price, uncle Gary Cross & numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Nita was born February 18, 1954 in Corona, California the firstborn child of Glenda and Armando Solorzano she was eventually the oldest of 7 siblings. Hers was a beautiful, bright and loving soul. Regardless of her challenges she maintained a positive attitude. She was a friend to anyone and everyone she met and she will be greatly missed. Nita was kind and giving to all. Growing up she worked in her parents’ restaurant learning customer service and hospitality eventually becoming the Food and Beverage Manager at the Winnemucca Inn. Nita loved listening to music, reading mysteries, playing games like sudoku, video keno and she was the family Yahtzee champion. Nita loved watching the Voice. Nita is predeceased by her father Armando, mother Glenda, sister Bethie, brother Mark and her beloved dog Bailey.

Special thanks to Nita’s stepfather Tom Dvorak for opening his home to her in her final days. Thank you to the nurses and aides of St. Mary’s hospice in Reno who helped make her comfortable in her final days.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a celebration of life on October 7 at 1:00pm at the Coventry Cross Church 1631 Esmeralda Pl, Minden, Nevada.
