Cole Anthony Hatcher was the only child born to Tanya Larios Greene on January 30, 1994. Cole was critically injured as a passenger in a car wreck on November 11, 2017 in Jerome, Idaho. Cole passed away at the age of 23, with family and friends by his side, at 11:59 am Mountain time on November 16, 2017 at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. But Cole’s heart beats on in another, as Cole was an organ donor and he gave the ultimate gift of life to others. He was a strong and healthy young man and it’s a true blessing how many other lives were able to receive his gifts to live on!
From the time Cole was barely out of diapers, he was riding horses with his Papa, Virgil Larios. They were practically inseparable. This is when Cole’s love of being a cowboy first began.
Cole was also very active in baseball, wrestling and football while growing up in Winnemucca, Nevada. No matter the sport, his Mom, Papa and Mimi were always his biggest fans.
In high school, Cole joined the Rodeo Team competing in both saddle bronc and team roping and he qualified and competed in the High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming in Saddle Bronc.
Cole went on to attend the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, where he enjoyed being on the Rodeo Team, competing in Saddle Bronc and Team Roping. During his college career he achieved many accolades, such as, over 3 years ranking 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Rocky Mountain Region for Saddle Bronc and competing in the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming for two years, for Saddle Bronc. More importantly though, Cole earned two degrees at CSI, one in Welding and one in Equine Science.
Even beyond all that, Cole gained so many friendships with both the young and old along the path of his young life. From his early years in Winnemucca, to his college days at CSI, and his PRCA rodeo years........all over the country....not only did he touch so many lives, but he was also touched by so many people far and wide.......it’s truly amazing!
Besides rodeo and meeting new people, Cole’s other passions were spending time at the family cabin in Jarbidge and the Jarbidge Mountains with loved ones, fishing, looking for arrowheads, dancing, singing, laughing and showing off!
Cole was preceded in death by his Grandma “Mimi” Dee Larios.
Cole is survived by his Mom, Tanya Larios Greene, Daddy “D” Darrel Greene, Grandpa Virgil Larios, Sue Coutts, Aunt and Uncle Lana Larios Kapphahn and Kevin Kapphahn, cousin Cody Kapphahn and the love of Cole’s life, Salone Page and her and Cole’s precious unborn baby.
Services for Cole will be held at the CSI Expo Center in Twin Falls, Idaho at 2:00 p.m. Mountain time on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
