The Battle Mountain High School football team and a large crowd made the trip to Winnemucca on Saturday for the NIAA 2A State Championship at Lowry High School. The Longhorns raced out to a 24-7 lead over Pershing County in the first half. However, the Mustangs rallied to score the final 28 points, including the winning touchdown, with less than three minutes left to play, to win 35-24.
