Obituary: Omar Bernal Covarrubias

Omar Bernal Covarrubias, 39, passed away on October 31, 2017 in Winnemucca, Nevada.

 He was born October 8, 1978 in Galeana, Michoacán, Mexico to Graciela and Alfonso Bernal. He graduated from Albert M. Lowry High School in 1996. He later married Vanessa Valencia. He worked at Marigold mine, where he enjoyed what he did. He was also a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Omar is survived by his wonderful wife: Vanessa Valencia; his children Shantel, Jamal, Omar Jr., and Khloe Bernal; his parents Alfonso and Graciela Bernal; his sister Perla Esquivel, and his brother Alfonso Jr. Bernal.

Anyone who knew Omar AKA “Rambo” knew that he loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. He always found humor in life and passed that on every chance he got. Omar loved having get-togethers with family and friends all the time and he always put pride into his food. Omar also loved his sports teams, some of his favorite teams were The Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, Las Chivas, and his all-time favorites The San Francisco 49ers. His love for the game was huge, but nothing compared to the love and dedication he had for his family.

Please help us celebrate Omar’s life on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church In Winnemucca. In honor of Omar please feel free to dress in sports attire from his favorite teams.
