December 12, 1938 – April 28, 2017
Robert True Little, a loving brother, husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle and friend went home to be with his Savior and Lord at 1:11 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 in Yerington, Nevada. He fought a courageous battle against cancer, to stay with his loved ones, but he finally surrendered and left us behind. Robert was the eldest of four children born to Wilbur and Ada Little. He was born and raised in CA, with his 3 brothers, David, James and Richard. He graduated from Turlock High School, where he met the love of his life, Sonia Jean Lackner, who he was married to for over 57 years! They were married on November 29, 1959 and had four children in the next five years, Cindy Marie, (Rogelio) Nunez, Debra Jean (David) Heath, Paula Ann Hanson, and Kenneth True Little. The family moved to Yerington, NV in 1970 so Robert could work at the Anaconda Mine. That is where Robert grew to love Nevada and declared it was his “home” state! He moved back to CA for a short time when Anaconda closed, but returned to NV to again work in the mines. Robert loved driving the huge haul trucks. They moved around Nevada, living in Tonopah, Gabbs, and finally in Lovelock, where he and Sonia lived for the past 22 years. Robert was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Lovelock and was known as a man of his word and for always helping others. Robert loved to garden and bless others with the fruits of his labor. He loved to work in his shop that he built almost by himself. He loved to buy treasures to work on and spent most of his days working hard with those treasures, up until the last month of his life. Robert loved his family and loved to travel and camp with them. He was known to “adopt” people into his family, if they didn’t have family, or just needed extra “family” to love on them. Family reunions were one of his very favorite things! He leaves behind his wife, 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a great many lifelong friends, who will dearly miss him!
