The original plan was to end the Northern 3A boys golf season on Wednesday at Old Greenwood in Truckee.
However, maintenance to the course forced the coaches to forego the tournament and use the tournament at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline last Thursday as the final tournament of the regular season.
Lowry High School shot 440 to finish second, while Northern 3A champions, Spring Creek won with total of 420.
Churchill County was third at 450 and South Tahoe (452) and Truckee (453) rounded out the top five. Elko (460), Fernley (516) and Dayton (581) completed the team scores.
Spring Creek’s Trevor Stannard led the way with a 3-over par 75, while teammate Daniel Mahlke was second at 77. South Tahoe’s Connor Molesworth and Churchill County’s Chance Wood tied for third at 81.
Lowry’s Zane Fifield was one of three golfers to shoot 82 on the day. He tied with Elko’s Cauy Mead and Churchill County’s Kelvin Cann.
Three other Buckaroo golfers shot in the 80s on the day, with Steven Bosch shooting 84 and Peyton Capellen 86. Those were season lows for both players. Freshman Kobe Stoker shot 89, his second-best round of the season.
Dillon Patterson had the final kept score at 99 and Seth Duncan shot a 101 for the Buckaroos.
Spring Creek ran away with the regional championship with 62 points on the year. Churchill County was second with 53 points and Lowry (49) was third. All three teams qualify for the NIAA State Championships that will take place Monday and Tuesday in Spring Creek.
The Southern 3A Regional Championship will be held later this week at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City.
