Theodora “Tedi” or “Sarge” Dodge, a long-time resident of Lovelock, passed on after a long illness on April 22nd at Renown Hospital in Reno.

Born on August 4, 1944 in Olympia, WA, Tedi received an AA Degree in Business and was member of the Honor Society at Clapsup College. Following her love of all things growing received a Certificate as a Master Gardener, focusing on flowers and plants that could thrive in this high dessert climate. She was also very proud of attaining the rank of Sargent with NDOC at LCC, as a natural mentor she helped so many fulfill their potential in the correction field. Always stepping in to give the best of herself to others.

Since her medical retirement Tedi has put her energies into her love of baking and gardening, because of this many will continue to enjoy her beautiful flower garden.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Michael Van Overbeke of Carson City, NV and Joseph Van Overbeke of Shelton, WA, a sister, Nadine Van Overbeke of Snohomish, WA, as well a daughter, Dawn Nelson and 3 grandchildren of Kelso, WA. Tedi was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Marlow of Westport, OR. Tedi has requested a simple cremation with her ashes spread on the family property in Shelton so there will be no formal service. Show your love, respect or gift to her by growing something or even baking a cake. Her bright eyes, easy laugh and even her stubbornness when standing there with her hands on her hips will always be remembered with love. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.
