The McDermitt High School track and field team opened its season last Saturday at the 45th annual Fallon Elks Invitational.
Senior Krissy Long finished 15th in the shot put with a throw of 29 feet, 1.50 inches.
On the boys side, freshman Jagger Hinkey finished 38th in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 53.80 seconds.
Fellow freshman, Ben Draunidalo was 49th in the 100-meter dash at 12.49. Jace Ramsey competed in the 800 meters and finished with a time of 2:51.44.
More than 25 teams from various leagues competed in the event. Reed of the Northern 4A, won both team titles.
McDermitt competed in the Elko Invitational on Friday and results were not available at press time.
