Bobby Lee Pangburn, of Meridian Idaho, formerly of Caldwell Idaho and Winnemucca Nevada, passed away January 20, 2017 at the age of 90 just 6 months after his wife, Wilma of 64 years. Bob was born in Okemah, Oklahoma to Edd and Ruth Pangburn on November 14, 1926. Bob grew up in Oklahoma and was drafted into the US Army during World War II in his senior year of high school to serve his country in battle. Fortunately, the war ended before Bob’s voyage overseas and he was able serve his country during the post-war occupation forces in Germany and come home unharmed to return to school and graduate in 1948 from Morris High School. Bob met the love of his life, Wilma Driskill in Morris and they were married in August of 1952.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, his sister, Patty Davis and his parents Edd and Ruth Pangburn. He is survived by his 5 children: son Bob Pangburn, his wife, Carol Pangburn, son Dan Pangburn, his wife, Diane Pangburn, daughter Melinda Schulz, son Richard Pangburn, daughter Melanie Erquiaga, and her husband Michael Erquiaga. Also surviving Bob is his 7 grandchildren: Ryan Schulz, Amber Schulz, Amanda (Pangburn) McGinnis, Richard Pangburn, Samantha Pangburn, Cole Erquiaga and Clay Erquiaga.
Bob was a farmer most of his life and believed strongly in the simple things; family, hard work, integrity, honesty and genuine kindness and helpfulness towards our fellow man. Those things were returned to him tenfold in the final years of his life.
Memorial Services for Bob will be held in Boise, Idaho at Bella Vida Funeral Chapel on March 24, 2017 at 10:00 am with internment for both Bob and Wilma immediately following at the VA Cemetery in Boise. Donations in their memory may be made to the Hospice Service of your choice.
