The Battle Mountain High School softball team opened the season with two wins in three games at the Perrshing County Tournament in Lovelock this past weekend.
The Lady Longhorns lost to Pershing County 11-1 and beat Silver Stage 20-5 and Virginia City 11-1. Battle Mountain is at home Friday to play North Tahoe at 4 p.m. The same two teams will play Saturday at 10 a.m. in a doubleheader.
