Pansilee Larson passed away at the age of 92, February 23, 2017. The past three years she has lived a rewarding and quality life at Aegis Living of Las Vegas Memory Care. She enjoyed the live music, gardening and bus rides especially. To my mother’s delight, during her last days, I was able to share a bouquet of fresh cut daffodils from my garden with her. With a huge smile on her face she repeatedly touched and smelled them! A special memory!
Pansilee was born in Winnemucca Nevada on December 3, 1924. She is a third generation Winnemucca, Nevadan. Her paternal grandfather, Walter Gilbert Case, arrived with the railroad in 1869, after serving in the Civil War. Her maternal grandparents, John and Anna Schreiner arrived in 1910 to homestead 160 acres that the Case and Larson homes can still be seen to this day.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved and enjoyed her family dearly. She loved music and the ballet, gardening and historical research. Pansilee was instrumental in starting the Humboldt Museum in Winnemucca. Her mother, Grace Case, with many members of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church founded the North Central Nevada Historical Society in 1973. The church was saved and moved to its present site and opened as a museum by May of 1977. Pansilee was Curator Director until her retirement August 2011.
Pansilee is survived by her daughter Susan (Dominic) Tegano, grandchildren Dominc ll, Michael (Christy), and Anna (Chris) Jackson. Son Beau Larson, grandsons Ian and Robert Leber; granddaughters Hannah and Nola (Brian) James; her sister Bette Tate and nephew Gary (Kim) Tate of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cousin Marsha (O’Carroll)(Tom) English and family of Reno; Cousin Kenneth (Judy) Schreiner of Grand Junction, Colorado; Niece Pamela Tate; nephew Tom Tate of Reno. She has seven great grandchildren.
Pansilee was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Larson, whom she was married to for 53 years. Her parents Lee and Grace Case of Winnemucca; her daughter Lana (Larson) Leber of Colorado and her son Richard (Rick) Larson of Las Vegas.

There will be a family graveside service at the Winnemucca Cemetery in Winnemucca, Nevada on Friday March 10, 2017.
