Stoker notches honorable mention honors for Lowry boys

Lowry High School freshman Kobe Stoker was the lone Buckaroo selection on the Northern 3A all-league teams. Stoker was picked for the honorable mention team.

Stoker averaged 7.8 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Buckaroos. Lowry finished 6-10 in the Northern 3A this season and missed out on the playoffs.

Dayton’s Jason Santos was named Coach of the Year and Elko’s Eric Klekas was named the Player of the Year.

The Northern 3A first team included South Tahoe’s McCallan Castles, Tommy Cefalu and Harry Moses-Chakmakis, Spring Creek’s Cooper Cavaness, Dayton’s JJ Ply and Fernley’s Zach Burns.

Klekas, Castles and Burns earned first-team, all state honors.

The Northern 3A second team was comprised of Kyrin Allen (Elko), Alex Klekas (Elko), Drake Howe (Fernley), Justin Turner (Fernley), Elijah Jackson (Churchill County) and J.J. Ply (Dayton).

Ply, Cefalu, Moses-Chakmakis and Cavaness were named to the all-state, second team.

The honorable mention group was made up of South Tahoe’s Noah Jackson and Zen Constestable, Truckee’s Gabe Cruz, Dayton’s Trevor Burrows and Chase Peterson, Spring Creek’s Jake Peterson, Sparks’ James Bates, Elko’s Jose Zataray, Churchill County’s Dalton Kaady and Fernley’s Ren Arroyo.
