Even though the state basketball tournament concluded last week, spring sports is now full throttle at Lowry High School.
The Lowry varsity and JV baseball teams will host a scrimmage against Spring Creek today (Saturday) at 10 a.m.
The Buckaroo varsity team will be in Reno next week for the Mike Bearman Tournament. Lowry plays at North Valleys High School in Thursday at 3 p.m.
The Buckaroos take on Spanish Springs on Friday at 9 a.m. at Wooster High School and Fernley at Reno High School at 5:30 p.m. The tournament concludes on Saturday, March 11, at Wooster at 10 a.m. and at Reno at 3 p.m.
The JV team will be in Yerington for a two-day tournament on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11.
The varsity team spends the next two weekends on the road to start Northern 3A play, Spring Creek (March 17-18) and Sparks (March 24-25). The Buckaroos make their home debut on Friday, March 31, against Elko at 3 p.m.
After playing a doubleheader at Wells on Wednesday, March 15, the JV squad will be home to take on Spring Creek (March 17-18) and Sparks (March 25).
The Lowry softball team will travel to Carson City today (Saturday) for a scrimmage with the Senators.
The Lady Bucks make their way over the Sierra Nevada Mountains next week to play in the Preseason Tournament of Champions in Sacramento, Calif, hosted by Del Campo High School.
Lowry plays Reed on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The Lady Bucks are in action twice on Friday against Monterrey Trail (Elk Grove, Calif.) at 10:45 a.m. and Christian Brothers (Sacramento, Calif.).
The three-day event concludes on Saturday, March 11, with Lowry facing Del Oro (Loomis, Calif.) at 10:45 a.m. and Antelope, Calif., at 12:30 p.m.

The Buckaroo boys golf team is in Dayton at the Arnold Palmer designed Dayton Valley Country Club on Wednesday to open the Northern 3A season.
Lowry will make the quick trip to Fernley on Thursday to close out the week. The Buckaroos host the Northern 3A on Wednesday, March. 15.
The Northern 3A has no postseason tournament and the top three teams in the final regular season standings advance to the state tournament in northern Nevada.
The Lowry track and field team makes the trip to Spring Creek on Saturday, March 11, for a 9 a.m. meet. The Buckaroos will host their annual event on Saturday, April, 29.
The Lowry swim team heads to Truckee on Saturday, March 18, for the Aqua 5 meet at noon.
The regional and state championships will take place in Carson City in May.
