Obituary: Marianne Reaveley Mills

Marianne Reaveley Mills (55) was born August 15, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ronald James Reavely and Carolyn Clark Reaveley.

Marianne was raised in the Millcreek area of Salt Lake City and graduated from Olympus High School in 1979. She attended the University of Utah for 1 year, where she met her husband John “Clay” Mills. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24th, 1981.

Marianne was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Clark Reaveley (2014), and her brothers John Ronald Reaveley (2011, age 52) and Douglas Arthur Reaveley (2008 age 39).

She is survived by her husband Clay, her father Ron, daughter Natalie Mills Gay (Chris) and son Jeffrey Clay Mills who is currently serving as missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Russia Samara Mission. Also is survived by her sister Lorianne Reaveley Martineau (John) and her brother Daniel Weston Reaveley.

Marianne suffered from the gradually progressive disease/syndrome Muscular Myotonic Dystrophy which contributed to a large degree to her death due to heart failure. She died on February 19, 2017 in the emergency room of the Battle Mountain Hospital.

Marianne lived most of her life and raised her children in Battle Mountain, Nevada where her family enjoyed gainful employment. She loved children, loved her family, loved the outdoors, played the piano with great skill and sang.

She has been a lifelong active member of her church and fulfilled multiple callings. Her favorite flower is the Daisy. Her funeral was held on February 24th at 1:00 p.m. at the Battle Mountain LDS Chapel.

Viewing was held at 11:30 a.m. Interment at the Salt Lake Cemetery was held on Saturday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m.
