The Winnemucca Badgers 14-16 year-old traveling baseball team just completed their 2017 season.
The season was incredibly successful, as the players achieved a 30-9 record.
The action started in Fallon at the Spring Sting Tournament, where the 14-15 year old players were split into two teams that ended up taking first and second place.
The second tournament the Badgers participated was their home “Droppin’ Bombs for Moms” tournament, where the teams won first and third place.
Next up, was the Walker River tournament in Yerington where, again, the two teams took first and third place.
After Yerington, the Badgers took one combined 15U team to the Reno Athletics Memorial Day tournament where they finished in fourth place.
Winnemucca rounded out the season over Father’s Day weekend at the Ruby Classic Tournament in Elko.
At that tournament, Winnemucca competed in both a 16U and 14U divisions and took the championship in both divisions.
All of the players improved over the course of the travel season and played very well.
The 14-16 year old Badgers are excited to add five first place trophies to their collection.
