Even though the start of basketball season is months away, the Lowry High School gym was busy this week with the Lowry Girls Player Development Camp, run by head coach Chelsea Cabatbat and her coaching staff.
The camp was designed for incoming seventh through 12th graders. The camp focused on fundamentals and learning the characteristics of Lowry High School girls basketball. The Winnemucca Junior High School season starts in late August with open gyms and tryouts. The season runs through October.
The Lowry High School season begins in mid-November and concludes in February with the state tournament in Reno. The Lowry varsity squad opens its year in Reno at a three-day tournament and will also play in Idaho in December. The Northern 3A season starts with a home game against Dayton on Dec. 5.
