Fifield, Patterson tie for top spot in junior tourney

Zane Fifield and Dillon Patterson each shot rounds of 86 to tie for first place in the Herzog Family junior golf tournament, held Wednesday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.

Kobe Stoker was third in the 15 to 17-year-old age group with a 94. Over 30 junior golfers took part in the tournament.

Tatyana Carlson led the way in the girls 15 to-`17-year old division with a round of 85. Megan Li was second at 106.

Angelina Martinez carded a 63 to win the girls 13 to 14-year-old division.

In the girls 10 and under age group that played nine holes, Katelyn Cassinelli won with a 56. Marquette Cassinelli (68) took the top spot in the girls 11 to-12-year-old age group and Greta Layton was second with a 69.

Kaiden Esquivel shot a 51 to win the boys 13 to 14-year-old division. Cal Peters was second with a 53.

Hunter Mullins (55) placed third and Wyatte Sakurada (57) and Tristan Cassinelli (58) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Juian Esquivel (71) finished sixth and Charles Gonin (78) and J.J. Drobny (83) completed the scores in the age division.

In the boys 11 to 12-year-old group that played nine holes, John Boyle shot a 52 to win. Kruser Wilkinson was second with a 58 and Landon Esquivel (60) was third. Trenton Mullis placed four with a round of 66.

Hayden Lyon won the boys 10 and under age group with a score of 46. Luis Mendoza (47) was second and Txema Bengochea (48) third. Logan Pointon (49) was fourth and Rodion Bondar (69) finished fifth.

Luke Fentress (71), Espen Creedon (74), Drake Lyon (75), Caleb Morrison (79), Txendoa Cabatbat (82) and Jase Frydendall (84) rounded out the scores.
