Junior high and high school athletes from around the West and Canada were in Winnemucca this week for the 32nd Annual Silver State International Rodeo. The event features some of the top finishers in their state or province in pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, ribbon roping, barrel racing, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc and chute dogging.
Athletes that finish fifth through 15th in the final points standings in their state or province are eligible to compete. The rodeo concludes Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Top-15 performance at the Winnemucca Events Complex.
