Native of Lovelock, Gaynell Lee (Stone) Ashworth, died at the home of her son, on January 5, 2017.
She was born on March 12, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Lilly (Westergard) Stone and Donald Stone.She attended the Lovelock schools and graduated from Pershing County High School in 1958. She attended the University of Nevada in Reno.
Following her marriage, she moved with her husband to the east coast. They lived in Nashua, NH and in Charleston, SC. Most recently the family made their home in Goose Creek, SC.
Gaynell spent her life raising her family and working for her church. She was happiest when teaching the little children about God, in the school at her church.
Her most recent visit to Nevada was in 2007 when she spent several days with her brother and family in Gardnerville and then came to Lovelock to attend a large Westergard family reunion, and visit friends.
Gaynell is survived by her sons, Brian and wife Lisa Stone, Kevin and wife Kim Fisk, Erik and wife Melissa Fisk and a daughter Lynn and husband Robert Stone. She is also survived by several Grandchildren, an Uncle Roland Westergard of Carson City, and an Aunt Audrey Munk of Lovelock, as well as numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ashworth, her parents and her brother, Garry Stone.
A Celebration of Life Memorial was held on January 10, 2017, at Calvary Charleston Church in North Charleston, SC.
