The Lowry and McDermitt high school basketball teams got some extra practice time in this week, as Mother Nature forced the cancellation of games earlier in the week.
McDermitt was set to host Pyramid Lake on Tuesday night, but the weather forced the Lakers to stay home. The hope is to reschedule the games at a later date.
The Bulldogs were set to play in Wells last night and Jackpot today (Saturday) to begin play in the Eastern 1A. McDermitt returns to its home floor this Friday against Carlin and Saturday, Jan. 14, against Owyhee.
The Lowry basketball teams were scheduled to travel to Elko on Tuesday for Northern 3A games, but those match-ups were also pushed back a couple days. The Buckaroos made the trip to Elko on Thursday. Results were not available at press time.
Lowry returned home to play Sparks on Friday, but the Buckaroos are scheduled to play in Truckee today (Saturday) with more inclement weather on its way.
The Lowry wrestlers were to compete in the Rollie Lane Invitational this weekend, but canceled its trip to Nampa, Idaho.
