Obituary: Janiece Carmen Monroe

On December 29th, 2016 our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was called home to Heaven.

Janiece was born August 13, 1932 in Baker City, Oregon to Clifford Anthony and Altha Ruth Augustus.

Janiece was survived by her children: Yvonne Chase, Joyce Wilcox, Ramona Raynor (JayDee), Jerry Monroe (Monique), 16 Grandchildren, and 16 Great Grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley George Monroe and her sister, Monna LaDawn Smith.

Her and her family moved to Nevada in 1944, lived in Mill City and then Tungston. She attended Pershing County High School and on 10-14-1950 married her High School Sweetheart, Stanley, and moved to Imlay.

She was an active member in the community as she taught Sunday School, worked as the Librarian, was in the PTA and the Ladies Firemen’s Association. She helped establish the Imlay Volunteer Fire Department and the Imlay Senior Citizen Center.

Services will be held Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Imlay Baptist Church, Imlay, Nevada. Pot luck to follow.
