Battle Mountain High School juniors Miles Piramide and Chris Figueroa were named to the Northern 2A all-league second team by the league’s coaches at the end of the regular season.
Piramide averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals a game.
Figueroa was the leading scorer for Battle Mountain at 13.9 points a game. His 7.8 rebounds a game was also a team best. He added 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks.
The Longhorns finished 16-9 overall this season and 7-7 in league play. Battle Mountain missed out on the regional playoffs on a tiebreaker.
Pershing County’s Jason Allen was chosen as the Coach of the Year and Will McKinney-Gattrell was chosen as the Player of the Year.
West Wendover’s Zade Ellison was the Offensive Player of the Year and Lane Condie was the Defensive Player of the Year.
The Northern 2A first team included Ethan Rhodes and Condie from Pershing County, West Wendover’s Bryan Flores and Elton, Incline’s Will Stranzl and Yerington’s Kevin Kirk.
Joining Piramide and Figueroa on the second team was Pershing County’s Derek Sandusky and Jake Cerini, Yerington’s Ian Mattice, North Tahoe’s Trent Lingruen and White Pine’s Sam Stewart.
Battle Mountain’s Mason Fuller was named to the honorable mention team. He averaged 11.8 points a game to go with 4.2 rebounds.
The honorable mention squad was rounded out by Yerington’s Steven Keats, Chris Brown and David McFalls, Incline’s Ian Smith, North Tahoe’s Teddy Gibeaut and White Pine’s Colin Young.
