McDermitt High School’s Precious Masters was honored as the Eastern 1A Player of the Year, as selected by the league’s six coaches.
Masters averaged 18.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.8 steals in her sophomore season with the Lady Bulldogs.
McDermitt reached the Northern 1A regional semifinals, losing to Owyhee 71-58. The Lady Bulldogs were 15-7 on the season.
Wells’ Enoch Dahl and McDermitt’s Jaimi Wilkinson shared the Coach of the Year honors.
Jackpot claimed the Sportsmanship Award.
Teammate Krissy Long joined Masters on the first team. Long, a senior, average 13 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 assists a game. Long leaves McDermitt as the all-time leading rebounder in Nevada history.
The all-division first team was rounded out by Owyhee’s MaCee McKinney and Kaylani Smartt and Eureka’s Cody Gibbs.
The second team included Wells’ Mallorie Limardo and Sammy Stumpf, Owyhee’s Kiara Egan and Eureka’s Morgan Thomas and Katie Damele.
The honorable mention team was rounded out with Wells’ Holly Seech and Keegan Laughlin, Carlin’s Rebecca Pena, Eureka’s Angelica Townsend and Jackpot’s Asia Eboli.
