Rural basketball teams take to the floor for exciting action in Orovada

The Humboldt County Rural Basketball league was back in Orovada for a handful of games on Saturday, Feb. 4.

In Division I action (6th-8th grade) Kings River defeated Orovada 18-14. Gael Rincon had 12 points for Kings River and Enrique Villalobos and Brooklyn Miller each had four points for Orovada. Paradise Valley beat McDermitt 39-13, as Isaac Mori and Pete Ferraro scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, for Paradise Valley. Tristan Biter had 10 points for McDermitt.

In Division II action (3rd-5th grade), Kings River beat Orovada 14-0, with Esmeralda Gomez scoring five points. Paradise Valley beat Orovada 26-22 in overtime. Troy Sauler had 18 points for Paradise Valley and Jacob Miller netted 18 points for Orovada. Paradise Valley knocked off Denio 8-7.
