 Gerardo Solis pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of convicted person failure to register. He was sentenced to eight days in jail with credit for eight days already served.



Two cases against Samuel B. Tanner were dropped after the justice of the peace granted two separate motions by the Humboldt County DA’s Office for a one-time dismissal of charges in each case. In the first case, Tanner had been charged with possession of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance — level three, possession of a controlled substance for sale and conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substances act. In the second case Tanner was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both cases were dismissed.



The case against Jimmy Villanueva Guerrero was dropped after the justice of the peace granted a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office for a dismissal of charges. Guerrero was charged with possession of a controlled substance. 



The case against Gerardo Solis was dismissed after the justice of the peace granted a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office for a dismissal of charges. He was originally charged with false use of an emergency telephone number. 



Milo Casper Derijk pleaded guilty to domestic battery. Due to plea negotiation an additional charge of convicted person failure to register was dropped on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s office. He was fined $200 + $105 AA + $35 special assessment. Fines and fees were converted to three days in jail and credit was given for time already served. He was given 30-day jail sentence, with 28 days stayed for two years. He was given credit for the remaining two days, as he had already served two days in Jail. He was ordered to complete 26 sessions of batterers intervention counseling, with monthly reports to the court. No alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations. Defendant was admonished that possession, shipment, transportation or receipt of a firearm or ammunition may constitute a felony. 

In a second case against Derijk of failure to appear after admission to bail, charges were dismissed by the justice of the peace, who granted a motion for dismissal by the Humboldt County DA’s Office. 



In a bench trial, the justice of the peace ruled that the state had failed to prove it’s case against Gary Joseph Mortenson for possession of drug paraphernalia. The case was discharged.



Dec. 22

Alexander Marcos Padilla pleaded guilty to domestic battery. He was fined $200 + $105 AA + $35 special assessment fee. Defendant was given credit of $100 for one day already spent in jail. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for a period of two years, and was given credit for two days jail time. He was ordered to complete 26 sessions of batterers intervention counseling with monthly reports to the court. No alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician. No further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations. Defendant was also admonished the possession, shipment, transportation or receipt of a firearm or ammunition may constitute a felony.
