Luis Fernando Contreras was found guilty at a bench trial of violation of a temporary or extended restraining order. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA. Credit of $600 was given for six days already served in jail. The balance of $540 was suspended for six months on condition the defendant have no further violations of the law.



Aug. 16

Jacob Andre Sanchez was found guilty at a bench trial of driving when lighted lamps are required. The court found that the state could not prove the accompanying charge of DUI. Sanchez was fined $50 + $65 AA for the headlight violation, the DUI charge was dismissed.



Aug. 17

Milo Casper Derijk pleaded guilty to the charge of resisting a public officer. He was sentenced to time already served in jail. A second charge of unlawful trespass upon land was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s office.



Aug. 18

Mikayla Jean Miller was found not guilty of possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle while under the age of 21 at a bench trail in justice court.



Donna Rae Stanton pleaded no contest to an amended charge of rural speed. Additional charges of resident with a non-resident drivers license and resident with non Nevada registration were dismissed. She was fined $25 + $50 AA.



Dennis Robinett was found guilty of violation of a temporary restraining order. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA. He was given credit for 13 days in jail toward the fine.



Charges against Cheryl Dawn Hermsmeier of failure to obey a police officer were dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s Office on condition the defendant have no further violations.
