Obituary: Lucille Helen Smith

Lucille Helen Smith, 85, of Winnemucca passed from this life after losing a short fight with cancer on August 14, 2017 with her family by side.

Lucille was born on May 14, 1932 in Onapa, Oklahoma to Hugh and Lula Hall. She married Jerrel D. Smith and they made their life in Humboldt County in 1979 First in Kings River until 2007 then Lucille moved into Winnemucca where she lived until her death. Not only was she a loving mother and homemaker she was an active participant in the family alfalfa farm until she moved into town.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved spending as much time as possible with her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for all of them.

Lucille is survived by her sons Ronnie (Marianne) Smith of Reno, NV, Gary (Melissa) Smith of Hopland, CA, and Randy (Nancy) Smith of Kings River, NV. She had eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephew; her brother Bill Hall and sister Nadine Raddell.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh Thomas and Lula Maye Hall, her beloved husband Jerrel Smith and her brother Robert Hall. The family would like to publicly thank Abby of Genesis Home Health Service; Cindy of Humboldt Volunteer Hospice; Angle Alvaraz and her two angels Gabby and Maria for all the care and support to Lucille during her final days.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that you donate to Humboldt Volunteer Hospice or the Local Food Bank.

A grave side service for Lucille will he held on Friday August 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Winnemucca Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Allen Peavy of Christ Life Ministries. A reception will follow at Las Margaritas in Winnemucca, NV.
