Carlson wins Doc Verner Memorial Junior Golf Tournament

Tatyana Carlson took home the Junior Club Championship, by winning the Doc Verner Memorial Junior Golf Championship with a round of 81, Wednesday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.

Nearly 35 junior golfers competed in the tournament.

Megan Li was second in the girls 15 to 1-year-old division with a round of 87 and McKenzie Vandemark (158) was third

Peyton Capellen won the boys 15 to 17-year-old age group with a score of 84. Zane Fifield (87) was second and Dillon Patterson (94) and Kyle Wright (125) were third and fourth, respectively.

Hunter Mullins shot a 46 for nine holes to win the boys 13 to 14-year-old age group. Rian DeLong (55) finished second, Julian Esquivel (62) placed third, and Tristan Cassinelli (63) and J.J. Drobny (77) rounded out the scores.

Landon Esquivel claimed the top spot in the boys 11 to 12-year- old division with a score of 53. John Boyle was second with a 59 and Trenton Mullis (60) and AJ Mendoza (62) were third and fourth, respectively. Tom Moser (7) placed fifth.

Jaden Jimenez won the 10 and under age group with a round of 41. Txema Bengochea was second at 47 and Luis Mendoza (55) placed third. Logan Pointon (56) and Hayden Lyon (59) closed out the top five.

Byron Jimenez (69), Txendoa Cabatbat (70), Rodion Bondor (73), Micheal Heikkila (76), Caleb Morrison (82), Regan Kenner (82) and Luke Fentress (83) rounded out the scores.

In the girls 13 to 14-year-old division, Angelina Martinez was first with a score of 54. Marquette Cassinelli (66) led the way in the girls 11 to 12-year old group.

In the girls 10 and under division, Katelyn Cassinelli won with a 50 and Annika Elms was second at 73.
