The Lowry High School football team began its season on Wednesday with the first of four days of heat acclimatization practices.
Non-contract drill begin on Monday and run through Wednesday. Lowry will be in full gear and can begin contact drills on Thursday.
Lowry hosts Elko in a scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 19, and open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 25, in Battle Mountain in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m.. The Northern 3A season starts on Friday, Sept. 1, when the Buckaroos host Spring Creek at 7 p.m.
