Humboldt County Rodeo Club competes in Gardnerville

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club made its way to Gardnerville this past weekend to take part in the Carson/Douglas High School Rodeo.

Quint Bell had a number of strong finishes on Saturday, April 15, beginning with a third-place outing in steer wrestling in a time of 8.94 seconds. Bell was fifth in boys cutting with 68 points and 10th in reined cow horse with 129.50 points.

Cade Bell was third in boys cutting with 70 points, while placing 13th in reined cow horse with 117.50 points. The brothers partnered up to place 13th in team roping with a time of 25.180.

Julianne Montero was sixth in goat tying with a time of 8.79, seventh in breakaway roping (4.90) and ninth in barrel racing (18.305). Kerstin Christiansen was seventh in pole bending with a time of 22.695.

Danyelle Draper placed seven in goat tying with a time of 8.96 and ninth in breakaway roping at 5.23.

Megan Miller finish 10th in barrel racing with a time of 18.378 and she partnered up with Kenadee Miller to place 12th in team roping at 21.570. Bailey Reynolds and Marie Curtis were 15th in team roping at 30.060.

Reynolds was first in the .22 rifle shoot and Curtis and Seth Duncan were second and sixth, respectively. Curtis tied for second in trap shooting and Duncan placed third.

This past Sunday, Draper took home the top spot in reined cow horse with 148 points.

Montero was the runner-up finisher in both breakaway roping (3.72) and goat tying (8.22). In addition, Montero was 12th in barrel racing with a time of 18.295.

Quint Bell was third in steer wrestling at 8.28, third in cutting with 70 points and fourth in tie-down roping, stopping the clock at 13.76. Cade Bell was fifth in steer wrestling with time of 19.160, sixth in cutting with 62 points, seventh in tie-down roping at 16.76 and 12th in reined cow horse with 135 points.

The brothers were fifth in team roping in a time of 14.300.

Christiansen placed fourth in barrel racing with a time of 17.993, while Reynolds was seventh in breakaway roping at 4.13.

Megan Miller finished nine in pole bending (21.574), 10th in breakaway roping (4.30) and 13th in barrel racing at 18.329. Megan and Kenadee Miller were 11th in team roping at 20.840. Alyssa Nimmick posted an 11th-palce finish in pole bending at 21.670.
