The Battle Mountain High School softball team got back on the winning track this past week with three home wins over Silver Stage. The first game of the series was on Tuesday, April 11, where the Lady Longhorns squeaked out a narrow victory.
The two squads were back in Battle Mountain this past Saturday, where the Lady Longhorns swept both games to improve to 6-6 in the Northern 2A. Battle Mountain is in fifth place in the league, just behind West Wendover at 7-8. Pershing County (14-1), White Pine (11-3) and Yerington (8-4) are the top three teams. Battle Mountain is off this week due to spring break. They are tentatively scheduled to play Incline in a make-up doubleheader on April 26. Battle Mountain travels to Yerington on April 28-29 for a three-game series.
