The Humboldt County Rodeo Club has been busy the past few weeks with rodeos throughout Nevada.
At the end of March, the club made their way down to southern Nevada for the Moapa rodeo.
On Saturday, March 25, Quint Bell paced the field in steer wrestling with a time of 6.60 seconds. He added an eighth-place finish in tie-down roping, stopping the clock at 21.30.
He partnered up with his brother Cade Bell to finish sixth in team roping at 22.180. Cade Bell was ninth in tie-down roping with a time of 23.40.
Julianne Montero continued to shine in goat tying, placing third in a time of 8.85.
On Sunday, March 26, won the tie-down roping with a time of 10.77 and he was third in steer wrestling at 8.33. Montero notched a third-place finish in barrel racing with a time of 17.904 and Cade Bell was 10th in tie-down roping at 20.77. Alyssa Nimmick was 14th in pole bending with a time of 25.052.
At the junior high level on March 25, Kayla Curtis finished 12th in barrel racing at 22.852 and 14th in pole bending at 34.191. On March 26, Curtis placed 15th in barrel racing with a time of 25.698.
The club returned to northern Nevada on April 1-2 and competed in Fernley.
On Saturday, April 1, Montero earned a runner-up finish in barrel racing in a time of 18.475. In addition, she placed third in goat tying at 8.13.
Danyelle Draper, along with partner Kaylee Filippini were second in team roping in a time of 9.89. Draper was eighth in reined cow horse with 139 points, 11th in breakaway roping at 28.43 and 12th in goat tying with a time of 10.22.
Quint Bell placed third in steer wrestling, stopping the clock at 9.89 to go with a 10th-place outing in tie-down roping at 26.25. Cade Bell finished fifth in cutting with 69.5 points and 11th in reined cow horse. The Bell brother4s were sixth in team roping with a time of 14.30.
Kerstin Christiansen placed 10th in pole bending at 22.593.
On Sunday, April 2, there were a couple of first-place finishers. Bailey Reynolds jumped to the top of the board in breakaway roping in a quick time of 3.02. In addition, Reynolds partnered up with Marie Curtis to place fifth in team roping at 8.36.
Montero led the was in goat tying with a time of 7.33 seconds and she was fifth in breakaway roping at 3.78. Montero added a 10th-place finish in barrel racing at 18.429.
Quint Bell was all over the top-10 standing on the day, starting with a runner-up finish in steer wrestling at 9.35. He was sixth in boys cutting with 68 points and eight in tie-down roping in a time of 20.03. He was seventh in team roping at 13.93, while his brother Cade, finished 10th in reined cow horse with 132 points.
Draper was fifth in goat tying (8.56) and fifth in reined cow horse (142 points) to go with an eighth-place outing in breakaway with a time of 4.58.
Annabelle Grasmick was 14th in pole bending at 24.871 and Curtis placed 15th in breakaway roping at 6.11.
In the junior high division on April 1, Lexi Garijo finished third in pole bending at 21.991 and 11th in barrel racing at 19.662. Garijo partnered with Amanda Draper to finish fifth in team roping at 55.37 and Kayla Curtis placed fifth in breakaway roping with a time of 6.90.
This past weekend, the Humboldt County Rodeo Club was in Fallon for two days of action.
On Saturday, April 7, Draper took home the top spot in reined cow horse with 143 points. She added a sixth-place finish in goat tying at 9.41.
Quint Bell was second in steer wrestling at 10.74 and he tied for fifth in boys cutting with 64 points. Cade Bell tied his brother for fifth place in cutting with 64 points and finished 12th in reined cow horse with 116 points.
Kenadee Miller finished fourth in breakaway roping with a time of 4.24 and was 15th in barrel racing with a time of 18.917. Megan Miller placed 15th in breakaway at 6.22 and Megan and Kenadee Miller were 11th in team roping at 25.54.
Christiansen placed 13th in barrel racing with a time of 18.776 and Marie Curtis was 14th in breakaway roping at 5.90.
On Sunday, April 8, Steven Bosch won the bareback riding, staying for the full eight seconds to score 61 points.
Quint Bell was back atop the steer wrestling standings in a time of 6.21, in addition to a seventh-place finish in boys cutting with 65 points.
Montero was the third Humboldt County athlete to win on the day, claiming the top spot on goat tying at 8.08. She added a third-place finish in barrel racing at 18.022.
Cade Bell placed sixth in steer wrestling at 18.59 and was 10th in reined cow horse with 134.50 points. Cade and Quint Bell were 15th in team roping with a time of 32.70.
Draper and Filippini were fourth in team roping in a time of 7.40, while Draper finished eighth in reined cow horse with 137 points and 14th in goat tying (10.86).
Reynolds and Marie Curtis finished second in team roping at 7.40, while Audury VanBuren was 10th in breakaway roping (5.24) and 14th in pole bending (23.517). Christiansen was 12th in pole bending at 22.243 and Megan Miller placed 13th in barrel racing with a time of 18.586.
In the junior high division on Saturday, April 7, Garijo and Amanda Draper won the team roping with a time of 17.09, while Amanda Draper was 15th in goat tying at 15.46.
On Sunday, April 8, Garijo was second in pole bending at 22.093 and Garijo and Amanda Draper finished in the second spot n team roping with a time of 22.093.
The Humboldt County Rodeo Club is in Gardnerville this weekend.
