Before taking off for spring break, the McDermitt High School track and field team was in Elko on Friday, March 31, for the Elko Kiwanis Invitational.
Freshman Jagger Hinkey turned in two top-10 performances, finishing seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 31 feet, 6 inches and ninth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 59.21 seconds.
Fellow freshman Ben Draunidalo was fourth in the high jump, as he cleared 4-10 and 12th in the 100-meter dash at 12.40.
Junior Jace Ramsey was 11 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:46. The 4x100 relay team placed third in a time of 52.41 and The 4x200 relay was fourth at 1:49.85.
McDermitt is off this weekend and returns to action on Friday, April 14, at the Ranchers Invitational in Crane, Ore.
