After taking nearly three weeks off in the Northern 3A schedule, the Lowry High School boys golf team was back on the course this past Monday in Fallon.

The Buckaroos finished fourth, shooting their highest total of the season at 475. Spring Creek ran away with the team title at 423, while Churchill County was second on its home course at 441.

Elko finished third at 471 and Truckee (478) was fifth. South Tahoe (498) and Fernley (569) rounded out the team scores. Dayton did not have enough players for a team total.

Spring Creek’s Daniel Mahlke was the low medalist at 72, while teammate Trevor Stannard was second at 77. Churchill County's Raymond Plasse and Kelvin Cann each shot 81. Elko’s Cauy Mead was fifth with an 82.

Peyton Capellen led Lowry with a score of 88 and was the only Buckaroo to break 90. Sophomore Dillon Patterson carded a 92 and freshman Kobe Stoker shot 96.

Steven Bosch shot a 99 for Lowry, followed by Zane Fifield at 100. Seth Duncan rounded out the Lowry scoring with a 102.

Lowry is still in good shape to capture one of three spots available for the NIAA 3A State Championships next month in Spring Creek.

The top three teams from the final regular season standings advance to state, and the Buckaroos are third with 23 points. Spring Creek (30) and Churchill County (27) are first and second, respectively.

Truckee is fourth with 18 points, with four tournaments remaining.

Lowry is scheduled to play in at Ruby View Golf Course in Elko on April 19. The league moves to Spring Creek on April 20.
