Obituary: Freddie Duane Rowley

Freddie Duane Rowley, 79, died at his home in Winnemucca, NV on September 18, 2016.

Fred was born on August 24, 12937 in Fillmore, UT to Melvin and Noma (Hansen) Rowley. Fred married Kaye Still on April 6, 1956.

Fred moved to McGill, NV to work at the central dumber in the smelter at Kennecott in 1955. He worked and raised his family in McGill until he and Kaye moved to Silver City, NM in 1984. The family later moved to Winnemucca, NV where Fred took a position as maintenance foreman with Goldfields in 1987. After retiring in 1996 he could often be found in his garage.

Fred enjoyed shooting trap and he had a passion for hunting and fishing. This passion was passed on to his two sons and grandchildren of whom he spent countless hours with in the mountains and on the water.

Fred is survived by his wife of 60 years Kaye; his sons Marvin of McGill, NV, and Richard of Ely, NV; his daughter Cindy (Don) Kemp of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Christopher (Kayleen) of California, Brian (Courtney) of Elko, NV, Michelle (Joseph) Ingle of Elko, NV, Erik of Reno, NV and Brock of Ely, NV; his brother Randy and sisters Mary LaNon Fowles, Ila Mae (Phil) Crossland and Pamela Brent) Larson.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Noma Rowley and his brother Larry.

Fred’s family would like to thank Golden Valley Medical Center for their extraordinary care and thoughtfulness, and Humboldt General Hospital for their care and support.

Fred had many good friends too numerous to list and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

As per Fred’s wishes there will be no services.
